What the hell is a water bar?
I remember seeing a vinegar bar once. We were working in Staunton for a good while and downtown I remember seeing a vinegar bar. I’m not generally a huge fan of vinegar, so I didn’t go in. I have no idea what actually goes on there. Do people really taste vinegar like they would at a winery or a regular bar like it’s beer, wine, or whisky?
A friend of mine assumes it could be a place where you can try out different vinegars like you would oils: on stuff. As in balsamic vinegar or whatever drizzled over stuff and you can taste it that way. I hope that is the case.
So, imagine my surprise when I come across a water bar. And not only that; it’s some kind of weird hipstery kind of thing where they serve water out of small glasses and fancy pitchers. And the kicker? It’s all shit water. It’s reclaimed from places like power plants or whatever.
They have this one where it’s called something like ‘Volcanic Dreams’ but all they do is go to the Lowes down the road, buy a bunch of charcoal (activated?) and lava rocks, dump that all in a bucket, and just pour tap water from the sink over it. It’s just tap water. Poured over rocks. Seriously? The website doesn’t say how much they charge, but I can’t image paying money to sample water you take tree limbs from and poured it over, which were laying on an old 6x6.
Florida, man.
Anyway, here is the link: https://artisanal-water-bar.pages.dev
And what the hell is twice frozen ice? Don’t go to this place.
